The short answer
QuickAir HVAC Repair Service repairs furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps across Santa Clara County, from Palo Alto to Morgan Hill, and offers 24/7 emergency service. Local air rules don't require you to replace working equipment, so a sound repair is often the right first step.
QuickAir HVAC Repair Service fixes furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps for homeowners throughout Santa Clara County. From our San Jose base, we travel to communities across the valley and foothills, including Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos and Morgan Hill. Your system may have quit on a hot afternoon or started making a new noise. Either way, we find the cause, explain it in plain terms and help you decide on the next step.
How the Valley's Climate Affects Your System
Santa Clara County has a Mediterranean climate, with dry summers and mild, damp winters. Inland and southern areas such as Morgan Hill tend to run noticeably hotter in summer than neighborhoods near the Bay, like Palo Alto. Because of that, cooling demand varies across the county.
In hotter pockets, air conditioners and heat pumps run long stretches in summer, which wears on capacitors, contactors and fan motors. Mild winters mean a furnace may sit unused for months. Problems like a dirty flame sensor or a weak igniter often show up on the first cold morning.
Common Repairs We Handle
Our technicians work on the equipment found in most local homes, from older gas furnaces to newer ducted and ductless heat pumps.
- Air conditioner blowing warm air or freezing up
- Furnace that won't ignite, short-cycles or trips a safety switch
- Heat pump stuck in one mode or running nonstop
- Thermostat and low-voltage wiring faults
- Refrigerant leaks and clogged condensate drains
- Noisy blower motors and failed capacitors
- Weak airflow from ducts, filters or dampers
Repair or Replace? What Local Rules Mean for You
Bay Area Air District appliance rules don't require anyone to replace working equipment. They apply only when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced. If your furnace can be repaired, you can keep using it.
Planning ahead still helps. Under Rule 9-4, natural gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx emission standard. In practice, that points homeowners toward heat pumps when they replace a furnace after that date. If your furnace is aging, we can talk through whether a repair makes sense now or whether a heat pump is worth considering.
The federal 25C tax credit for heat pumps is not available for new installations after December 31, 2025. You can still check BayREN and your local clean energy provider for current electrification incentives. Amounts change by funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before quoting it.
